## How to use it

1. Go to https://www.cipherandrow.com/verify
2. Type the carrier's MC, DOT, or CVOR number
3. We pull from FMCSA (US) or CVOR / CTQ / NSC (Canada)
4. You get back: authority status, insurance, safety rating, fleet size, years operating, trust score

## What you can verify

- **United States:** any carrier with an active or inactive MC or DOT number
- **Canada:** any carrier with a CVOR (Ontario), CTQ (Quebec), or NSC (other provinces) number
- **Cross-border:** US carriers running into Canada are merged automatically

## What you'll see

- **Authority status** — active, inactive, revoked, pending
- **Authority type** — carrier, broker, both
- **Insurance** — coverage limits, expiry date, named insured
- **Safety rating** — current FMCSA / CVOR rating
- **Fleet size** — number of trucks and drivers reported
- **Operating since** — date authority was issued
- **Trust score** — CR's 0-100 score, computed from FMCSA history and transaction signals
- **Risk flags** — double brokering, identity theft signals, missing insurance, expired authority

## Why it's free

We want dispatchers and brokers to use carrier verification on every load they book, not just the ones that feel suspicious. Putting this behind a paywall would defeat the purpose.

The free verifier is rate-limited to about 30 lookups per IP per day to keep the service available. Need more? A free CR account unlocks a higher daily cap plus your carrier history log.

## What you can't do for free

- Save companies to a watched list with continuous monitoring
- Receive signed webhook alerts when authority, insurance, bond, or safety rating changes
- Send Trust Links to drivers
- Use the REST API or MCP server at production volume
