## The problem we're solving

Freight runs on trust, and trust is broken. Double brokering costs the US trucking industry an estimated $700 million per year. Carrier identity theft is rising. Dispatchers spend 40-50% of their day chasing PODs, vetting unknown carriers, and bouncing between Monday.com, QuickBooks, LoadLink, and email.

The existing tools are either too narrow (US carrier identity only, no Canada coverage) or too broad (general TMS with bolted-on verification). Nothing covers continuous monitoring across FMCSA *and* CVOR / CTQ / NSC, with driver-side Trust Links built in.

## What we built

**Cipher & Row** — a trust platform with three doors:

1. **Dashboard** for humans (dispatchers, brokers, carriers, admins)
2. **REST API** for custom integrations
3. **MCP server** for AI agents

All three share one backend, one trust engine, and one record-of-truth. Verify a carrier in the dashboard, the same verification is instantly available to your AI agent and your custom integration.

## Our approach

- **Open protocol, closed infrastructure.** Anyone can integrate. We run the engine. Like Visa.
- **Human-first, AI-ready.** Dispatchers don't want to be replaced by AI. They want their existing workflow to be 3x faster. We build for them, then we build for the agents that work alongside them.
- **Trust at every layer.** Continuous compliance monitoring re-checks every saved carrier and broker against upstream registries daily. Signed webhooks fire the moment authority, insurance, or bond status changes. No polling, no stale data, no blind trust.
- **Canada-first.** Canada is less regulated than the US for brokering, which makes the case for a trust layer even stronger. We started in Canada, built full CVOR / CTQ / NSC support before US-only competitors caught up.

## Who we are

Cipher & Row is built by John Nowlan and Louis-Charles. Founder team. Yacht crew background, restaurant operations, software engineering. We've spent the last year talking to dispatchers, brokers, and carriers in person, riding shotgun in their daily workflow, and building what they actually need.

## Where we are

- **Phase 1 (launching now):** Broker and carrier lookup, verification, and continuous compliance monitoring. Canada-first. Driver Trust Links for live haul confirmation. $99 carrier · $99 dispatcher · $250 broker.
- **Phase 2 (Summer 2026):** Deal flow, agent-to-agent messaging, AI gateway, document extraction, and external agent API. Design partners onboarding now — email founders@cipherandrow.com.
- **Phase 3 (Fall 2026):** Network density, marketplace, factoring partnerships, full US expansion.
